This week, on July 11th, Lakeyah released a brand new music video for her latest song, ‘Want Em Hood’. The track builds on the momentum she’s gained after releasing her 4-track single ‘Add It Up’ earlier this year, in June, and has already gotten the up-and-coming rapper attention from multiple major publishing companies such as Rolling Stone, BET, XXL and others in the music industry.
Released on August 27, the video for Kyd’s new single, ‘Get On Down’ sees the artist visit the “wild west” popularised in the Spaghetti Western genre of the 1960s. It features footage in old saloons, the desert of the US South West, and old fashioned steam trains. If that wasn’t already enough to evoke the Clint Eastwood classic, ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’, the song opens up with an extract of Ennio Morricone’s haunting theme from the film itself.
Singer/songwriter and rap artist AKA Klaye grew up in London, where he absorbed the sounds of modern street culture. His music is a fusion of catchy pop beats and melodies with dancehall, resulting in a Jamaican-flavoured summery party vibe. His latest single, ‘Faya’, certainly captures all this and will be a sure-fire dance floor hit. The video for ‘Faya’ premiered on Link Up TV on August 18.
Rather than an homage to his love for Justin Bieber, Jack Bruno’s song ‘iLoveJustinBieber’ is instead a trap infused hip hop track with a humorous clip which sees Bruno being tended on hand and foot by a bevvy of sexy, mature ladies, who compete for his attention over the span of one sun-drenched afternoon.
