Gabriel and the Apocalypse – ‘Thrill of the Kill’

With their heavy rock/industrial style, Gabriel and the Apocalypse are dramatic and theatrical, but in the words of frontwoman Lindy Gabriel, “not over polished. You can feel the emotion. You can feel the anger.” The band has been together in its current formation since 2011, and have recently released the video for their new song, ‘Thrill Of The Kill’.

Born to parents in rock bands, Lindy Gabriel has been singing since she was six years old, and always known she was destined to be a singer. Joined by Jake LaCore on guitar, drummer Zach Williams, Figgles McGee on keyboards and samples, JACE on bass, and Joey Connelly on guitar, their sound is a unique blend of heavy metal, hard rock, and industrial.

Their second album, and their first for label Pavement Entertainment, ‘The Ghost Parade’ is  a raw and emotional release, described by LaCore in National Rock Review, as having a “‘Marilyn Manson meets Shirley Manson’ vibe” making them “a little different than many other popular rock bands” in the music scene of their native Minneapolis.

The video for ‘Thrill Of The Kill’ is a strongly visual piece, both disturbing and fascinating at the same time, segueing raw and rocky performances by the band with a variety of “experiments” performed by “doctors”, intent on inflicting pain and suffering. It’s a theatrical masterpiece, and not simply shock for shock value.

Focus is put on each band member, whose raw and fierce playing is close to menacing, blurring the lines of who is more dangerous. – the band or the “doctors”.

‘The Ghost Parade’, including ‘Thrill Of The Kill’ is available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify.
