John and Edward give us a visual feast in new music video Ferocious.
The song was released last Friday and has debuted at number 20 in their native Ireland, a commendable effort considering the next two closest debut singles this week are U2’s “Every Breaking Wave” and Taylor Swift’s, “Welcome to New York”. Neither of these songs made it into the top 50.
Ferocious, with its catchy hook and EDM beats will quickly become a club favourite. The video itself is beautiful – shot in Los Angeles and Phoenix with a Red 4X camera, it wouldn’t look out of place as the trailer for a film. The Dublin twins show off their not inconsiderable acting talents, and manage to convey quite effectively a number of different emotions – the viewer feels their hurt, pain, and fear.
Also featured in the video is Sharknado actress, Tara Reid, real-life friend of John and Edward. She comes to the rescue of the twins in their hour of need, and gets them away from the “poision spider”, with the three driving off in her white convertible.
All in all it’s a great effort from the twins, and we at Essentially Pop can’t wait to see what they have next for us.
Ferocious is available to buy on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, 7 Digital and HMV Digital. The video is also for sale on iTunes, and the CD single can be bought in Ireland from HMV stores.
