Lila Blue “Grown Bones”

Last month we introduced you to young multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and lyricist, Lila Blue, with her song, ‘Half Of It‘. Her follow-up, ‘Grown Bones’, released last week, continues with the same honesty and focus that we heard in her previous single.

Accompanied by a video clip shot in the Joshua Tree area of California, Lila makes good use of her theatre talent as she dances maniacally in the desert sand. Her vocals are just as menacing, as she soars high and swings down down low, deep and throaty. It’s reminiscent of the likes of Alanis Morissette and even Janis Joplin – the richness of her voice fills the sonic space.

‘Grown Bones’ is the most recent single from Lila Blue’s ‘Leave Me Be’, and it comes with a video shot by Elise Durant. Lila is seemingly left in a desert wilderness, abandoned to her madness, in a tattered dress that’s seen better days. She moves to the music, and against it – lost in her torment, yet as much as she’s unsettling to the viewer, she is just as compelling.
