With a foundation of guitars and horns, ‘Is It That Deep?’ brings a soulful and relaxed mid-tempo groove, bolstered by layered harmonies, which altogether perfectly captivate Cat Burns’ honest, heartfelt songwriting, and intimate vocals.
Cat reflects on the importance of letting go the things you can’t change, taking a breath and releasing them, and loving a little more.
The single is accompanied by a music video, directed by Charlie Di Placido, best known for his genre-defining music videos for JUNGLE, and Kojey Radical, will premiere at 5pm BST today here.
‘Is It That Deep?’ is already a fan favourite, with Cat Burns performing it on her recent sold-out UK tour.
Solidifying her status as one of the UK’s most prominent music talents, Cat Burns has garnered more than 1.5 billion streams, and was the biggest selling British female artist in 2022, propelled by her triple-platinum smash single, ‘Go’, which maintained a 17-week run in the UK Top 10 and peaked at No.2 on the Official UK Singles Chart. She was later nominated for three BRIT Awards, as well as for the Rising Star Award at the Ivor Novello Awards. Cat’s debut album, ‘Early Twenties’, was critically acclaimed, entering the charts at number 7 and went on to be one of the 2024 Mercury Prize Albums of the Year.
Cat Burns won over a new set of fans last year when she made it to the final five in the BBC hit series, ‘Celebrity Traitors’, followed by the release of her second album, ‘How To Be Human’, which debuted at No.5 on the Official UK Albums Chart. This summer saw Cat win an Attitude Award Pride ICON Award, and appear on the cover of the magazine. Later this month she will head out on her first Australian tour with shows in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
