Tom Walker Performs Stunning Acoustic Rendition Of ‘Better Half of Me’

Tom Walker today announced his ‘Home Run’ Acoustic Tour, set to take place in February 2020.

The BRIT Award winner will also play six very special Scottish dates.

Local singers invited to apply for incredible opportunity to open the show each night.

Scottish born Tom Walker, winner of the 2019 BRITs Breakthrough Award, has announced his Home Run acoustic tour, including a series of Scottish shows, plus an incredible opportunity for a local act on each night of the tour.

The singer, whose album ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ hit Number 1 in the UK and has sold over a million copies around the world, will play six dates in Scotland and one in Manchester, where he was brought up, in February next year.

Each Home Run date will offer a very special opportunity to one local artist. Tom is inviting solo artists or duos to apply to play a three-song set as the first act on stage, before the main support and Tom himself. Tom will pick his favourite entry for each show to perform acoustically on the night. Artists can apply to play their local show.

“The Home Run tour combines everything I love,” says Tom. “Playing acoustically is always a buzz because there’s something really intimate and special with the audience when the songs are stripped right back to their basics. I love playing on home turf, where the fans really treat you as family and have given me a huge amount of support from when I was just starting out. And I’m really excited to give a little boost to a local artist each night. It’s not that long since I was trying to get onto gigs as the opening act and it can really make a difference to your career by playing to new audiences who have the chance to hear you for the first time. To be able to offer that opportunity on this tour will be amazing.”

Tom has just been announced as nominee for the ‘Best Album’ award at the Nordoff Robbins Scottish Music Awards, taking place in Glasgow on November 30th, where he will also perform on the night.

Tom’s links run deep with the SMAs and Nordoff Robbins, the music therapy charity which runs the event. He won the UK Breakthrough Award in 2017 and his collaboration on a new version of international hit single ‘Leave A Light On’ with the legendary Red Hot Chilli Pipers was released in aid of the charity earlier this year, reaching Number 4 on the iTunes chart.

Tom’s new single ‘Better Half Of Me’ is out now, with the hilarious video released today, featuring a selection of Tom Walker doppelgangers competing at various tasks with the man himself. The single is included on the new Deluxe Edition of ‘What A Time To Be Alive’, out on November 8th and available for pre-order.
