‘Dare Me’, Challenges The Infamous HER

The Infamous HER, aka the wonderfully talented Monique Staffile, challenges a potential lover (and the listener) with her latest single, ‘Dare Me’. The pop-rock singer wants to hear something outrageous, turning a flirtatious solicitation around, and daring her target to dare her in turn.

The Infamous HER doesn’t just want to be led to a place she’s never before visited, she wants to do something she’s never even considered doing. The challenge is up to her lover – do they have what it takes to not just outguess her, but come up with something so mysterious, so dangerous, that she finds it impossible to resist them?

With a monster groove and a pure pop verse, along with a playful chorus that evokes film soundtracks of the 1960s, the writing of ‘Dare Me’ is smart, sharp, fun, and funny, while the music video is equally exquisite. Frequent collaborator David Dutton has delivered a clip that’s just as colourful, magnetic, and suggestive as the song. It feels like the footage captured of a party that’s about to get too hot to keep recording, and, as is always the case when it comes to The Infamous HER, the video feels as if it belongs to every era all at once, and yet to none at all. The Infamous HER teases not just her intended, but all of us, posing, cajoling, and daring us, from every frame.
