Having retired from the world of Martial Arts, five times kickboxing world champion Ali Jacko was looking for a new challenge. He decided to follow his lifelong dream of being a musician and start a challenging project to release a new single every month of 2018 until November. July welcomed ‘Somebody to Love’, a playful and Jazzy track that truly shows a different side to Ali. The track is ironically witty, with smart lyrics that document Ali’s (previous) un-luck in love.
After becoming the first Asian to win British, European, Intercontinental and The World Full-Contact Kickboxing championships, British-born Ali Jacko woke up one morning and became a rock star sensation. “I had never even sung, even in the bathroom before. My own family cannot believe I can sing. I don’t blame them as I still don’t believe I can sing myself, I’m going to wake up from this dream I am having”.
After meeting Muhummad Ali on a plane, Ali Jacko, real name Abdul Ali, went back to his home in the East End of London and poured his passions into kickboxing, holding a massively successful 12 year career including 44 wins without a loss, as well as maintaining JKO Productions outside the ring. He’s always been one to excel at whatever he puts his mind to, so it should come as no surprise that he’s put as much energy into his next career move, as a recording artist.
