Ron Brunk Shows He’s ‘Not Dead Yet’ With Latest Release

Prolific musical artist Ron Brunk is certainly ‘Not Dead Yet’ with his latest release which sees him examine the truth of mortality.

No matter where we come from, who we are, or what we believe, at the end every single one of us must confront the truth: time is finite, and death is inevitable. At some point, each one of us comes to the end of the road. Ron Brunk has a unique perspective; he’s survived several near-death experiences, health scares, and a long string of tumultuous turmoil: he certainly doesn’t tiptoe around it, he knows that tomorrow isn’t promised – heck, he could be gone even today. But while he “could go at any minute”, he’s ‘Not Dead Yet’.

With an infectious swinging piano melody, and shuffling snare beat, Brunk’s vocals are layered with just a touch of distortion, as if he’s shouting his sentiments through a megaphone. Joining him on backing vocals, Andi Jane sways and twirls in tandem with Brunk, while a chorus of disembodied voices refracts each brutally honest statement. The whole piece culminates in a bellow of angst seemingly released at last.

As always, the music video for ‘Not Dead Yet’ sees Brunk taking the status quo and turning it on its head. He’s at his “magic piano”, seeming to sing to himself rather than the viewer, with his back to the camera for the first 20 seconds. Naturally, Ron’s feline companions round out the vibrant chorus, singing and swaying from on top of the piano, continuing the heartwarming series of animated adventures woven throughout Brunk’s latest visuals. Ron shouts into a real megaphone, while wearing sunglasses, and, at several points the screen fades to black, perhaps echoing his several near-death experiences. He’s not going down without a fight though, and each time, he springs back to life. carrying on just like nothing has happened. He may have had his struggles, but he’s still kicking.
