Amarachi Is Looking For Someone To Rescue Her With ‘Earth Is Ghetto’

Originally from Nigeria, Amarachi moved to the US at age 9, first Kansas, then to the suburbs of Houston, Texas. She found she had a competitive spirit that drove her to success in everything she tried, and, after finding an early interest in modelling, moved to New York City, determined to make her mark in that city’s notoriously tough fashion scene. Although her plans didn’t exactly unfold as she’d wanted, she discovered that one of her defining traits is an unshakable resolve, and she refused to compromise her identity to fit into anyone else’s mould.

Amarachi’s prowess at karaoke gave her the confidence to pursue music, which had always been in the background, and, so she has embraced Music was always in the background, but her karaoke performances gave her the confidence to pursue it seriously. Guided by spirituality and a wealth of lived experience, Amarachi channels the raw moments of everyday life, the roads that everyone travels, into fearless, relatable anthems. Now diving headfirst into her musical journey, she knows the time is right, embracing this new, bold chapter with a full heart and clear vision that will resonate with everyone.

In a collaboration with brothers Mike and Nick Squillante, ‘Earth Is Ghetto’ is a fresh take on perseverance, with stripped-back instrumentation that allows Amarachi’s soulful vocals to soar. She cries out in desperation for a rescuer to save her from all the chaos. There are subtle hints that this guardian angel could be a higher power, but this is left open for listeners to insert their own saviour into the story. She offers a comforting reminder to those who have not yet found a rescuer – “You’re not alone”.
