Aria Mody Isn’t Your Average High School Senior With New Pop Single, ‘Made In India’

Aria Mody draws from her South Asian roots with new single, ‘Made In India’.

A biracial artist with both Caucasian and Indian heritage, Aria Mody has talent in spades, ensuring that this New Jersey high school senior brings a lot to the table. A singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, she also attends AP classes, and captains her varsity fencing team.

Additionally, Aria’s voice has been trained by industry legends Seth Riggs – known for his work with Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder – and Eric Veto, the BBC Maestro vocal coach to Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, among many others. Her voice is bold and authentic, commanding immediate attention, and making an impact – shining as a beacon to other young artists, particularly young women, and challenging the bias they face in the music industry.

Aria Mody’s heritage serves as a foundation for her music, with her annual visits to India giving her the opportunity to immerse herself in the culture and connect with her family, while her life in New Jersey allows her to connect with the vibrant pop scene. Her identity shines through her music, and latest single, ‘Made In India’, tells the tale of youthful infatuation – with a twist.

Gliding effortlessly between the verses in English and the Hindi chorus, Aria captures the thrill one experiences a person who changes every aspect of your life. We see her falling hopelessly under the spell of someone that she needs, and needs now, and she sings in Hindi, “No one’s like you”, and “I’ve gone crazy about you”. The instrumentals also capture this Indian theme, and the production is top quality, and what we’ve come to expect from producer, the multi-platinum Grammy-winning producer Derek “DOA” Allen, known for his work with music legends like Lionel Richie and Janet Jackson.

Of course, it’s only natural that the music video for ‘Made In India’ would carry on with this East Meets West theme, and it takes part in a lively Indian house party. Vibrant, colourful, and filled with energy, the clip was directed, choreographed, and shot by Prince Gupta, who has made a name for himself in Bollywood for his bold visual storytelling and choreography.

We see partygoers dancing and laughing, without a care in the world, but Aria isn’t feeling it. Suddenly however, she finds herself captivated by someone – Indian actor and influencer Ayaan Zubair. She smiles, as she realises that the party might not be a bomb after all, and she determines to catch his attention. With eye-catching costumes, dynamic choreography, and vivid colours filling every scene, the visuals for ‘Made In India’ bring Bollywood style to a new audience.
