The youngest of ten siblings, Archduchess Of Divinity has always found her peace in God and had her heart firmly rooted in family, in particular her mother, Mother Dorothy Evans, who, as an Ambassador of Peace and a devoted missionary, was fully dedicated to her Lord, and known as a “mother of many”. Archduchess Of Divinity takes up her Mother’s mantle, and aims to uplift a discouraged, challenged world with unconditional love and divine guidance. She’s spent decades behind the scenes in the music industry, learning the ropes while working alongside her husband in the world of hip-hop and R&B. Now, she is choosing to write her own story of redemption, with its focus on her journey of love, forgiveness, and grace.
Archduchess of Divinity’s new single, ‘Agape Love’, is a celebration of the selfless, unconditional, and sacrificial love shared by God. The inspiration comes from the Bible, specifically the thirteenth chapter of Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, which was read weekly by Archduchess’s father, Bishop Dr Dennis B Evans Jr, during their Sunday worship services at RCC (Refuge Christian Center) in Altadena.
Archduchess stays true to her quest for true Agape Love, as she aims to be a light shining in the darkness. Joining her is Brian Laskey, a longtime family friend and collaborator, who previously worked with her on ‘Loving Hands’. With their voices in perfect harmony together, they reassure the listener that “God’s love can never be turned off”, and call us to not just celebrate His love, but also embrace life with gratitude over jealousy and resentment. As Archduchess says, “Love life on life’s terms”.
The music video for ‘Agape Love’ is filled with the positivity to be expected from a song about the blessings of divine love. Archduchess and Laskey dance and sing their hearts out on the roof of a high-rise in Los Angeles, surrounded by the splendour of that city’s skyline. Light follows them everywhere – indoors and out – and they radiate gratitude on their mission to praise and celebrate their Lord.
