Chuck Fraz’ Da Original Knows That ‘Life Is a Race’ But He’s Meeting It Head On

Chuck Fraz’ (pronounced like Frazier) DA Original is a creative powerhouse who uses his music to explore the inner mysteries of life, and share spiritual lessons. while weaving spiritual lessons into his soulful tracks.

Chuck grew up in inner-city Baltimore, where too often he’d himself getting into trouble “coming off the steps” on the streets. He knew he wanted more from trouble in life, and found his anchor in his deep love for melodies and freestyling, refusing to let his circumstances define him.

Now, settled in Atlanta, Chuck turns his dreams into a reality, and, encourages his listeners to follow their own hearts and make their dreams real too. He draws inspiration from a wide range of genres, such as rap, R&B, and soulful 80s rock, ensuring his tracks are overflowing with authenticity.

Chuck Fraz’ Da Original’s new single, ‘Life Is A Race’, comes ahead of his new EP, which is in itself a precursor to a full-length album. The track is filled with unswerving passion and resonant lyricism, and shows that originality and vibrant artistry come from within, and possess the power to take one anywhere.

While Chuck has faced seemingly insurmountable blocks in his life, he’s never once allowed “stop” to take up residence in his vocabulary.  “Born from the darkness, raised for the limelight”—he determines to “keep running” through this wild race of life until he achieves greatness. The track is driven by a high-energy beat, while Chuck’s flow is smooth yet commanding, as he glides over the rhythm with a sense of determination and grit.

Chuck speaks from real-life experience, and offers an unexpectedly vulnerable point of view, which sees him reflect on his past, upbringing, and his relentless drive to create a better life for himself and his family. The accompanying music video, created in collaboration with longtime friend J. Jackson, continues this vulnerability, as it focuses on a track star jumping hurdles on a football field, serving as a timeless metaphor for the struggles faced in life. Chuck delivers his bars with passion, and cheers the runner on, at times even joining in the race himself – it’s his story, and he’s not afraid to share it: he was someone who “stayed down ‘till he came up”, and he wants others to benefit from what he’s learned along the way.
