Growing up in the mean streets of Prince George County, Maryland, David Vanison was certainly no stranger to the drug scene as a teen, but when he had first-hand experience with violence he realised things needed to turn around in his life. Now, using the name GoodGuyDavid1, 27 year old David has left that life behind for one of faith, and new single, ‘Baby’.
The music video for ‘Baby’ is emblematic of David’s work ethic and commitment to self-improvement, both on and off-screen. While directed by Mikeal Imaging, David self-produced the clip, which shows him working out in the gym, as well as putting in the hours working on himself mentally and spiritually. He’s reached that stage of his life where he wants to keep and provide for the woman of his dreams, while pursuing his career goals.
David’s previous releases were of a heavier subject matter, but with ‘Baby’ he says he’s reached a new season of peace and abundance, and so the lyrics are more accordingly lighter, as he celebrates love, peace, and gratitude.
The banging beat and the steady flow of the lyrics give ‘Baby’ a raw authenticity that will appeal to those in similar circumstances, while at the same time serving as an infectious gym workout track, or alternatively, the soundtrack to a long drive down the coast.
