Paul Richart Captures The Power Of The BritPop Era With ‘Empty Smoke’, The Latest Live Single From The Bouquet Sessions

Taking inspiration from artists such as David Bowie, Blur, Pulp, Suede, and The Smiths, the latest release from The Bouquet Sessions is the single, ‘Empty Smoke’. The Bouquet Sessions, formed towards the end of May this year, sees a range of artists perform, bathed in the glow of lights and flowers, and in the case of ‘Empty Smoke’, features the artist, Paul Richart.

‘Empty Smoke’ is immediately clear in its inspiration, Richart somehow managing to perfectly capture the near ethereal vocal style of Bowie, and powerfully harnessing his melancholic soul. The single is styled after the golden era of 90s BritPop, so it’s no surprise that the acoustic guitar is also reminiscent of Blur.

The Bouquet Sessions meets once a month, providing a brilliant atmosphere for new artists to showcase their talents, and give them a platform to perform live to an audience that fully appreciates them. You can find out more about The Bouquet Sessions online on their Instagram page.
