Yoji, an RnB artist with roots in both London and Suffolk, returns after a short hiatus from releasing music, with ‘Liberosis (Set Yourself Free)’. The track is part of a yet to be released body of work, and is inspired by her own journey of overcoming negative thinking and self-doubt, exploring themes that will be familiar to many, of self-sabotage, perfectionism, and emotional release.

The track sees Yoji collaborate with US based producer, 2thousand5, aka Nico Bryant, and is dance driven with a garage-inspired beat underpinning lyrics such as the opening line, “I just wanna take these chains off me, shackled to my insecurities”.

‘Liberosis (Set Yourself Free)’, is both deeply personal and liberating, as Yoji celebrates that moment where she realises she’s ready for a positive change in her life.

With her RnB style incorporating soul and pop sounds, Yoji’s music is emotionally raw and honest, while her vocals are light and upbeat. She started writing songs while still at school, and later learned to play classical piano, leading to a Masters in Popular Music from Goldsmiths.

Yoji’s self-produced singles and EPs, such as previous release, ‘Retro Romance‘, are great illustrations of her ability as an artist and producer, and reflect her versatility and ability to write across a wide range of musical genres.

Yoji has collaborated with the likes of Talay Riley and Jay DX, and performed at a variety of venues, from the iconic O2 Area, where she supported the legendary Kool & The Gang, and intimate shows at London’s Jazz Cafe. She’s also been featured on Capital FM and BBC Radio 1.
