Jeff Goldblum does Christmas – again! Out now on Decca Records, the sultan of snazz has just dropped a new Christmas double delight, with ‘Let It Snow’ on the A-side and the timeless ‘Blue Christmas’ on the other. This release comes ahead of a limited edition 7″ format, set to hit the shelves, just in time to slip under the tree, on December 6.
Once again joined by his trusty band of seasoned swingers, the ever-fabulous Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, and featuring guest vocals from the delectable Veronica Swift, this record will be the magic for your mistletoe, delivered in the inimitable cool-cat Goldblum style.
“I’m a die hard Swiftie now”, Jeff says. “No, not just the incredible Taylor, but Veronica Swift as well. She harkens back to the jazz greats like Ella, Sarah, and Anita with her flawless scatting and swingin’ masterful musicality. I think my band executed to the highest degree the cool and clever arrangements by Joe Bagg and Alex Frank to make two new and exciting takes on holiday classics.”
‘Let It Snow’ sees Goldblum’s sonorous, velvety vocals melt through the track, every bit as smoothly as marshmallows in hot chocolate. Meanwhile, the B-Side, ‘Blue Christmas’, taps into that bluesy vibe, with Veronica Swift the perfect counterpoint to Jeffy’s laid back delivery.
This is the perfect single from Goldblum, the gift we didn’t know we needed, but once experienced we can’t imagine not having. Whether you’re trimming the tree, roasting chestnuts, or just curling up with a cup of eggnog, this will be the soundtrack to all your merriest moments.
Mark your calendars and get the vinyl. Because after all, who wouldn’t want Jeff Goldblum spinning on their turntable this December?
Oh, and stay tuned—there’s always more Goldblum on the horizon.
Wishing you a jazzy, snazzy holiday season.
