Regular readers of EP will know that we’ve written about daFinchi before, and his incredible enthusiasm, dedication, resilience, and commitment to his musical career. He’s been sharing his journey openly, and not held back on the challenges he’s faced head-on; it’s all testament to his hard-working ethos.
The Bridgeport Connecticut artist daFinchi, also known as Peter Finch, brings to his music a unique blend of experiences; during the day he serves as a personal injury lawyer, but by night he’s a committed rapper, putting that same intensity into his music with which he defends his clients. New single, ‘Future Me’, is yet another in his winning musical career, and serves as an ode to his future self, and a reminder to never forget his roots.
daFinchi deftly blends his introspective lyricism with a powerful commentary on ambition, and resilience, with ‘Future Me’ becoming the most potent reminder to stay grounded, while you strive towards your future success. He highlights the relentless hustle, stressing the importance of always keeping the same drive as if you’d only just begun, regardless of how much you’ve already achieved. He also takes a critical look at the issues of society today, with observations of the state of his country, while at the same time, calling for everyone to stay steadfast and unswerving in their perseverance.
‘Future Me’, with its undeniable beat and profound, yet hugely relatable narrative, comes with a clear message: in the face of adversity, it’s of the utmost importance to always remain strong, and committed, and keep pushing through – while remaining focused and down to earth.
The music video for ‘Future Me’ sees daFinchi offer an enticing blend of nostalgia and aspiration, set against the beautiful countryside of Connecticut. daFinchi is shown riding an all-terrain vehicle through the gorgeous fields, and past horse stables. These scenes of the trappings of success are interspersed with clips of nostalgia from daFinchi’s younger days, a reminder of his roots, and his days when he hosted “Live! With Pete Finch!” and interviewed the likes of T-Pain, and Akon. In this way, daFinchi is able to connect with his audience on a more personal level, and inspire them to pursue their dreams.
