Originally from Rhode Island, but now living in Charlotte, North Carolina, Joe L. Murgo is a lifelong rock electric accordionist, who started his songwriting journey with ‘Liberty Rising’, an anthem about 9-11. He’s since composed many songs, and shares them on his official website and streaming platforms. Much as we might like to hear Joe perform live, he keeps those low-key, singing only for friends and family.
Joe’s sound features elements of modern-Nashville country rock, but he maintains a style all of his own.
“You know, if you try to write songs that sound like everyone else’s, you lose the individualistic artistry that makes you uniquely you. A lot of the newer stuff coming out of Nashville these days uses a writing formula built around beat and clever rhyme schemes, which might be fine for younger audiences, but it all starts sounding alike after a while. Plus many folks north of 30 want songs with more memorable melodies, hooks and lyrical substance.”
