OpenSoul isn’t just blessed with a beautiful voice, he’s also a gifted and intuitive songwriter as well as an authentically good person all round. The artist from Negril, Jamaica, is just as if gratitude was realised in human form, and he’s bringing all this to his festive single, ‘Blue Christmas’.
While he was producing and songwriting alongside friend and fellow Jamaican artist Andon, OpenSoul was performing at resorts around the Island, and was featured on the Netflix hit, ‘Top Boys’. Now, with an Instagram following of more than 20,000 fans, OpenSoul’s time has come, with his back-catalogue of absolute bangers ripe for discovery, ahead of his debut album, set for release next year.
With ‘Blue Christmas’, OpenSoul makes you say, “Elvis who?” as he makes the title his very own for this original song. It could well be a love song, but ‘Blue Christmas’ is dedicated to Santa, and with his mellifluous vocals and gorgeous falsettos, OpenSoul brings the festive vibes, even among the palm trees.
The music video, directed by Steven Bernard, takes a simple cinematographic concept and elevates it to become a classic that you’ll be humming along to for Christmases to come.
