Marlon Davis Will Fix It With His New Pop Single And Video, ‘Handyman’

Hailing from Negril, Jamaica, vocalist and master entertainer Marlon Davis is known as the “Vibes Master”, and with his infectious, energetic performances, and hook-driven songs, he’s fast making his way into the US pop scene.

Davis got his start entertaining tourists in Negril’s clubs, covering the songs of the likes of Bob Marley, The Drifters, Benny King, and Elvis Presley. But Marlon also takes his influences from today’s music culture, such as Afro-beats and Reggaeton, courtesy his Afro-Latin-Caribbean roots. A tourist from Indianapolis liked what she saw and heard, and so Marlon went back with her, to the city he now calls home, and where he writes his very relatable songs, drawing inspiration from his family life and work experience.

His sound is a seamless fusion of his reggae and crooning roots, along with the country and hip hop genres of his new home. The end result are joyful bops emanating from a seasoned professional performer.

Marlon Davis’s new single, ‘Handyman’, is impossibly catchy, and filled with playfulness, wit, and innuendo. A certified mood lifter, Davis introduces himself as the handyman who is well equipped to fulfil all his clients’ needs. Singing over an unavoidably danceable beat, replete with jaunty steel drums and an infectiously sing-a-long hook, ‘Handyman’ will make a very welcome addition to any “feel good” playlist.

The music video for ‘Handyman’ is just as fun as the song. Shot in Indianapolis, we accompany Davis on his daily rounds as a handyman. When the girl-next-door calls for help, he’s there, ready and willing to do whatever she needs. There’s nothing too naughty in the clip – it’s all very PG – but there’s no end to the fun, energy, and innuendo, as they take the tasks from the garage to the kitchen and beyond. Got a lightbulb that needs changing? Marlon Davis is your man, and he’s guaranteed to light up your day.
