Prolific French DJ and musician Petit Biscuit returns with a re-imagined instrumental release of his much-loved electro-pop classic, ‘Sunset Lover’. The original track, released back in 2015, has so far made an incredible 15 times platinum sales worldwide, and in the artist’s words, on the video for the new version,
“‘Sunset Lover’ is the song that started everything for me. It gave me the opportunity to travel the world. These are some of the places I saw.”
With an amazing 4 billion streams across his career, Petit Biscuit is certainly a name known by most people, and the music he’s created over the past decade has pretty much been on the soundtrack to everyone’s lives in that time. Combining electronica and classical music, his sounds almost transcend time and space, while his music videos have come to exemplify the feeling of adventure, and reflection.
All this is made even more incredible when one realises Petit Biscuit was only 15 years old when he originally composed ‘Sunset Lover’; yep – he’s not even 30 yet – taking his inspiration from his classical music-filled childhood, as well as his passion for electronic production, he was able to craft the enigmatic, dreamlike piece. Now, with the orchestral version, the soothing synths and atmospheric tropical house sounds have been replaced by the tranquil feel of an orchestra – woodwind, string, and other orchestral instruments.
The music video for ‘Sunset Lover (Orchestral Version)’ replicates the delicateness of the track with its use of tantalisingly evocative landscapes, all of which Petit Biscuit has had the opportunity to visit, because of the original song. With drone footage capturing the beauty and tranquility of the scenery, as well as the vibrant colours, and picturesque locations, the viewer is filled with hope and wonder – and perhaps even a desire to visit all those places themselves.
