Patriotic Americana Song, ‘Freedom Guaranteed’ From Gil Karson & The Karson City Rebels Will Earn An Instant Spot On Your July 4th Playlist

A California native who’s been writing and singing music for as long as he can remember, Gil Karson is the frontman for the roots/blues/country rock group that bears his name, Gil Karson & The Karson City Rebels. Over the years Gil has opened shows for the likes of The Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Steppenwolf, and The Rascals, and he ensures his sound stays consistently up to date, by cycling through different musicians in his band, ones who challenge him and push his talents to new levels.

Gil Karson has found his way onto the R&B and Dance charts, with many songwriting credits to his name, and he’s also landed songs in films. Now, Gil Karson and his team are working on their first album, set for release later this year.

‘Freedom Guaranteed’, the debut single from their upcoming album, pays tribute to those service people who have defended America and Americans – right from the start. From Revolutionaries right up to modern-day soldiers, it has become a national anthem of sorts, and is a huge hit at all the live performances of Gil Karson & The Karson City Rebels.

Opening with organ, kick drums, and guitar, Gil Karson enters with an open and earnest storytelling vocal, striking with its gratitude to those who’ve sacrificed their lives in the quest to guarantee freedom.

If that wasn’t enough for you to add this to your Fourth of July playlist, then the music video might sway you. Directed by Gil Karson himself, we see him and his six-piece band, interspersed with footage of soldiers and veterans. There’s absolutely no commentary on war in the song or clip, but rather it’s a tribute to the generosity of those in uniform.
