Kalush Orchestra Release Unifying New Single ‘Nasze Domy’ Featuring Polish Rap Artist Szpaku

Eurovision-winners Kalush Orchestra have released a powerful new single with Polish rap artist Szpaku, ‘Nasze Domy’. Translating from Polish as “Our Homes”, the jointly released track is a song that addresses the pain and struggles felt in Ukraine while conveying a message of hope at its core.

The release comes as Kalush Orchestra are announced to perform at this year’s MTV EMAs on 13th November in Düsseldorf, Germany – alongside Stormzy, Lewis Capaldi, Gorillaz, Muse, GAYLE, One Republic, Ava Max and more. Sam Ryder will also be presenting an award at the event.

“The idea for this track arose in my head when I was visualizing the war in Ukraine. Although we all now live in fear of what Russia has unleashed, God will not forget about us, and in the end good will definitely win,” says Szpaku.

Kalush Orchestra and Szpaku met for the first time in Gdansk, Poland, where they wrote the track ‘Nasze Domy’ together in the studio. In a whirlwind songwriting session, the two artists wrote the song in just one day, quickly feeling a common vibe and a desire to create.

“At first, I thought it would be difficult because of the language barrier,” said Szpaku, “but we all felt the incredible atmosphere and immediately understood each other. You can hear what came out of it now.”

Kalush Orchestra have performed more times in Poland than in any other country on their European tour this year, each time feeling incredible support from the Poles. This new song, created between Ukrainian and Polish artists, serves as another message of solidarity between the two countries and their people at this time.

“Our managers, who have been friends for a long time, introduced us. And you know, it seemed like it had to happen. Because this energy that we felt and the song that arose from our collaboration is what reflects the feelings of Ukrainians and Poles right now. We don’t want to say too much, we want you to listen to ‘Nasze Domy’ and feel what we wanted to convey” – says Kalush Orchestra frontman, Oleg Psiuk.

“I believe that this is a very important song, and I hope that it will become another bridge between our two countries – Poland and Ukraine.” – adds Szpaku.

Kalush Orchestra are currently midway through their first tour of North America, with the last date of the US leg tonight at Chicago’s Concord Music Hall. The band will take to Canada for the last six dates of the tour, finishing in Winnipeg on 10th November.

‘Nasze Domy’ swiftly follows Kalush Orchestra’s first release since their Eurovision-winning hit ‘Stefania’. The band teamed up with Finnish rock legends, and fellow Eurovision 2022 contestants, The Rasmus to create a new version of their 00s rock hit ‘In The Shadows’. Released on 21st October, the new version, titled ‘In The Shadows of Ukraine’, saw the band fuse their unique blend of Ukrainian folk and rap with The Rasmus’ classic rock style.

‘Nasze Domy’ by Kalush Orchestra and Szpaku is out now. Remaining tickets to Kalush Orchestra’s North American tour can be found here.
