It All Adds Up With Maffmatix’s New Single, ‘Wake Up’, Featuring Atiya

Electronic producer, Maffmatix relocated from Los Angeles, California, to Bangkok, Thailand, and the latter city is the setting of the video for his latest deep house track, ‘Wake Up’.

With hypnotic rhythms punctuated by Atiya’s haunting vocals, ‘Wake Up’ is a certifiable club banger, and the music video that accompanies it is both mesmerising and humorous, as it tells a “Groundhog Day” style story. Maffmatix wakes up every morning in exactly the same way, his dog in the same position, and he opens the curtains to survey the new day. Meanwhile he discovers the beautiful Atiya on a poster, and each day is a quest to find her – getting gradually closer and closer. Eventually, after finding her in a night club, he wakes up, with Atiya beside him. She turns to show that there’s a photo of them – complete with the dog – and it begs the question – was it all a dream?

While immensely danceable, ‘Wake Up’ is also a song which works well through headphones, where the listener can drift away on the mesmerising beats. Deep bass and intoxicating synths, it’s nigh on impossible to resist floating away in a fantasy world.

Singer songwriter Atiya originally posted ‘Wake Up‘ online, and Maffmatix took the straightforward pop song and transformed it into the hypnotic track we are reviewing today.
