The Roughhousers Release New Kids Country Single, ‘Azucar’

We’ve written a lot about Grey DeLisle over the years, and we’ve already introduced you to her new project, The Roughhousers. Now let’s show you another single from the “Kids Country” duo – ‘Azucar’.

The Roughhousers describe themselves as a “kid band for adults”, and previous release, ‘Princess Mike‘, had a message that could be interpreted on different levels, regardless of the listener’s age. With new single, ‘Azucar’, we already have a clue in the title – it’s the Spanish word for sugar. The Roughhousers retain their 60s sound, with a surf rock guitar vibe, and add a sticky sweet flavour that is only enhanced by the music video.

The clip for ‘Azucar’ sees Grey and Eddie as kids in a candy shop. There’s chocolate, vanilla, ice cream, jelly beans galore, and Grey is in her element, while Eddie Clendening’s instrumental will have you dancing The Stomp or The Mashed Potato…just having a good time anyway. It’s a catchy melody with an easy listening instrumental, and just like sugar itself, is incredibly addictive!

Check out the video for ‘Azucar’ below, and follow The Roughhousers online on their official website, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. You can also check out Grey DeLisle’s website!
