Do A ‘Little Dance’ With Neon Dreams ft. Majozi

Halifax Canada alt-pop duo Neon Dreams comprises Adrian Morris and Frank Kadillac. Each brings their own style to their productions – Adrian’s hype, and the almost hippy like visions of Frank; the result is an energetic sound that is filled with punching rhythms and riffs, alongside wholehearted tones. Their song, ‘Life Without Fantasies’, unexpectedly found a huge fanbase for them in South Africa, and they’ve since had 80 million streams, several Gold and Platinum singles, and won a much coveted JUNO Award.

Their latest single, ‘Little Dance’ is a breath of fresh air, and came to Frank after he encountered a shark on a dive outside Cape Town. After he broke the surface of the water, heart pounding, the melody came straight to him, and he headed off to the studio where Adrian Morris and collaborator Majozi laid down some fun sounds to match the reflective and celebratory statement. The song sounds very familiar but it’s altogether a new work as it tells us that in the face of overwhelming experiences we should just do a little dance.

In the video, co-directed by Dan Lewis, Frank Kadillac juxtaposes vignettes of thrift stores, backyards, coastlines, and skateparks, and calls the viewer to take refuge in the loveliness of wherever they are. All we have is the here and now, and whoever we’re with – we need to take advantage of our time while we have it!
