Baker Grace returns with her new single, ‘Lullaby’, following on from her January release, ‘Midnight Thoughts’.
Baker, from Weehawken, New Jersey, has made the money shot with new single ‘Lullaby’, which is set to be the lead track on the original soundtrack of the new movie, ‘Last Survivors’. Starring Alicia Silverstone, Drew Van Acker, and Stephen Moyer, the film will certainly make an impact, and ‘Lullaby’ is going to be there right alongside it.
Baker Grace’s vocals are suitably soft and gentle in ‘Lullaby’, with her voice delivering a sweet and rich tone via candid, meaningful lyrics, which have been paired with a dynamic instrumental comprising peaceful piano, later joined by bass, synthesizer, and then comforting guitar strumming in the second verse.
Baker sings about experiencing the pain of being lied to when all the while knowing trouble lies ahead. She is the perfect example of persistence, and not letting obstacles get in the way, and she also touches on her coping strategies, which show, that no matter what, she knows the battles must be fought and overcome.
In the video for ‘Lullaby’ Baker Grace puts a cassette into a tape player on a table decorated with a collection of photos. Gazing out her rainy window for the bulk of the first half of the song, we realise the photos are connected to the missing-person poster we catch a glimpse of. There are clear connections to the ‘Last Survivors’ film, from the landscape in her eyeshot to the message about “outside medicine” written in the book pages. Baker Grace immerses herself in this sci-fi dystopia, blindfolding herself in front of an old television set. When she removes it, she finds herself in the footage from the screen, while viewers see her in this location on the same television set she was seated by before.
