Tawny K Releases Festive Single, ‘New Way To Be’

Australian singer, songwriter, and multi-talented musician, Tawny K, wants us to take a step away from the vibe that 2020 has had, and remember that there’s always a positive angle to everything. Her new single, ‘New Way To Be’ is a real Christmas treat, and is out now.

Born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia, Tawny has been involved in music from a very young age, playing drums and guitar through high school, and leapt at every opportunity to perform. When she was 21 she was approached by Australian producer Nick Hart, to record guitar and vocals, on an electronic/chillhouse dubstep track, ‘Believe’. At that point she realised her passion for singing, and drew inspiration from the likes of Rita Ora, Selena Gomez, and Anne Marie, and started writing her own music.

In 2012 Tawny started recording her first studio album, ‘Chapter One’, assisted by record producer Matthew Williams, the tracks containing Pop, R&B, and elements of EDM, among other styles. These genres have given her a unique, fresh style, with an encouraging honesty that Tawny K hopes will put her in place as a role model for the next generation.

In her Christmas single, ‘New Way To Be’, Tawny K has taken inspiration from the highs and lows of the year. The song is accompanied by a music video, which gives us a glimpse of an Aussie Christmas: looking at the neighbourhood Christmas lights, going shopping for a tree and decorations – even playing beer pong in the back garden before jumping in the pool – we are reminded that we’re all the same no matter where we are in the world, and that we all crave that same human connection.

Speaking of the track, Tawny K said,

“I think the emotion of everything happening was like a story in me that was waiting to be told.”

She adds,

“I love Christmas! I hope when people hear this song, they feel like they are getting a big hug.”
