London-based R&B singer songwriter Viktorija Faith has released her latest single, ‘Pray’. The self-produced track, while subtle, nonetheless is emotionally charged, and is a fine example of independent female creativity.
Written during lockdown, ‘Pray’ is an expression of Viktorija’s feelings of home during that time of uncertainty, and her dreamy vocals are set against a simple instrumental, in order to properly convey the strong emotions, and evoke powerful memories.
Speaking about the accompanying clip, Viktorija revealed,
“The ‘Pray’ video is the idea of my soul search inspired by spiritual practices; Praying, burning negativity and writing over some new positive thoughts.”
‘Pray’ sees laid back lo-fi R&B combined with a modern electronic pop sound, the result being a dreamy mix.
Originally from Lithuania, where she topped the charts and was featured on that country’s TV music channels, Viktorija Faith’s debut EP was released by London-based independent label, Panache Records. The artist has also participated, and won, a number of international singer-songwriter competitions, and is currently finishing the demos for her first album, in her home studio in West London. Her soulful sound draws inspiration from the likes of Frank Ocean, and Drake, and she expects to drop her album in 2021.
