No stranger to the spotlight, Lucy Spraggan is one of the UK’s most exciting and talented young, female singer songwriters today. Despite shooting to fame after only a short time on the primetime TV show X Factor, she found herself hitting the headlines and becoming a household name as a feisty, female champion for the LGBTQ community. However, Lucy has successfully retained respect from fans and critics alike as so much more than another reality celebrity. An accomplished musician, whose songs ooze with her personality and lyrical content full of humour, Lucy’s jaunty melodies will drop into your ears and bring a smile to your lips as you find yourself happily humming along at any hour of the day.
Lucy has released her provocative new single ‘Flowers’ today, the track lifted from her brand-new album, ‘Choices’, which she will reveal to the world on 26th February 2021. This sexy new single and raunchy music video explore a new direction for Lucy. Single for the first time in her life, she’s enjoying a new chapter & blossoming as a healthy, happy, independent and body confident woman.

“It feels like a real success to look after your own self and I’ve never really put myself entirely first. After doing that, I found my new bit of confidence and with that I thought ‘I might write a bit of a sexy song!’” says Lucy.
Always frank and direct, Lucy has been through a hell of a year. A break-up and an impending divorce, getting sober, discovering she was lactose intolerant, going through lockdown alone and getting a body and a 6 pack to die for after losing 3 and a half stone through weightlifting, running and a healthy protein rich diet. Her forthcoming album, ‘Choices’, is packed full of her heart rendering life experiences, that have served in giving her the headspace to mature and grow, both musically and personally.
Sonically, ‘Flowers’ is heavily inspired by Lucy’s zealous travelling spirit and the subtleties of US music and culture.
“Whenever I had any time off, I’d just hire a Harley Davidson and ride it to the desert from Nevada to California. I was cruising along listening to old school music and it inspired a lot of the sound on this record.”
‘Flowers’ was written and recorded in Scotland throughout lockdown with the help & masterful production of multi-instrumentalist Pete Hammerton (One Direction, Paloma Faith & Little Mix), as well as renowned engineer Danton Supple (Coldplay, Morrissey, Kylie. Minogue).
Lucy Spraggan was the first X-Factor contestant to have a Top 40 single and album before the live shows began in 2012, and she went on to have 5 Top 30 albums and to be the first female headliner of Kendall Calling Festival. With a big Summer of festival bookings scheduled and lost for 2020, Lucy took the changes the pandemic wrought in her stride and focused on completing her album and launching her fitness brand.
An advocate for positive mental health, working closely alongside charities such as CALM and Alzheimer’s UK, she is also striving to help people feel more confident in themselves with her new online six-week workout scheme called, ‘Fully Rewired’, a new initiative to help develop a space for people to share their goals and aspirations to get them inspired and physically active. So far over 7,000 people have signed up to the programme.
Alongside the release of her sexy new single and forthcoming album, Lucy has also announced a UK Tour in 2021, which will see her take to the stage at venues such as the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and Manchester’s O2 Ritz. Lucy will also appear at Warwick Castle’s, ‘Picnic at the Castle’ later this month on 26th September for a socially distanced show.
