Calypso Artist John Richards Releases Latest Single, ‘Brexit’

Taking his inspiration from the social and political events of recent years, Calypso artist John Richards has released his latest EP, ‘Brexit’. The record makes use of his upbeat dancehall calypso style of music, while covering UK events such as the Brexit Referendum, and England’s cricket performance.

From Birmingham, John Richards writes songs that are optimistic and light-hearted in tone. He has performed as a steel pan player for a number of years, and his previous albums have similarly covered a variety of unusual topics, such as his love of beer, and flower festivals.

‘Brexit’ is the opening song on the 3 track EP, which tells the history of the Brexit Referendum in a somewhat humorous style. Somewhat incongruous when heard in conjunction with the steel pan, and yet quite fitting when you consider that we don’t really know what is going to happen with the withdrawal from the European Union.

‘Brexit’ is now available to stream and download on all major digital download sites. You can find out more about John Richards online on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Listen to more of his music on Soundcloud, and Spotify.
