Husband and wife team Jason and Victoria Evigan have travelled the world, putting in the miles and time, absorbing the sounds, instruments, rhythms, and traditions that go into making the music of the globe. Their new single, ‘Love Is The Weapon’, combine their talents and cuts through all the modern noise, and serves as an incredible showcase for their journey.
Elephant Heart formed their genre-bending electronic collective in 2016, and started to regularly release singles in between Jason’s production work (with the likes of Madonna, Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, David Guetta, and Ellie Goulding), and their important duties as co-founders of international charity, Picture This, a non-profit organisation that cultivates unique friendships between children in America and children in across the globe through hand written letters and artistic expression.
Jason’s studio prowess works in conjunction with Victoria’s roles as vocalist, songwriter, lyricist, and producer, and their previous release, ‘Lenguas’ was hailed by Billboard magazine, as well as by their global fanbase, who number among the tens of thousands spread over Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
The video for new single, ‘Love Is The Weapon’, shows an intimate view of the “travel with purpose” style Jason and Victoria engage in, and they perform alongside their many friends in Jodhpur, India. The clip, directed by Pat Ridge, who is known for his work with Cardi B, Travis Scott, and Steve Aoki, among others, sees them grooving, rhyming and singing along to the song, surrounded by buildings and structures, baking in the burning sun, some of which have been standing since the 15th century. The locals are bedecked in bright colours, and know every word of the song by heart, providing backing for the band. It’s a gorgeous clip for a brilliant song, which defies genres, and blends world sounds with ease, while spreading a message of positivity and self-assurance.
