Chelzzz – ‘Somewhere In Miami’

Described by Elevator Magazine as “The white female Lil Wayne & Eminem mashed with the sex appeal of Rihanna”, Chelzzz is a lesbian rapper and a significant supporter of the LGBT community. Her latest single, ‘Somewhere In Miami’, is accompanied by the perfect video clip, which showcases picturesque blue skies, pretty girls and bold colours, emphasising the culture, attitiude, and grit that Miami has to offer.

Chelzzz has faced much scrutiny in her life, and she turned that into the motivation she needed for her music. She brings an attitude to the mic which at first seems somewhat intimidating, yet quickly this gives way to intrigue.

Chelzzz moved from Detroit to Miami, where she was welcomed with open arms by the music industry. Taking her inspiration from the likes of Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim, Chelzzz’s wordplay is second to none.

In the video for ‘Somewhere In Miami’, we see women portrayed as power figures, where they make the decisions, and are the ballers. It’s a nice change from the usual rap offerings which see women regarded merely as sexual commodities, whose only value is in their sex appeal. In addition to raising up her own musical standing, Chelzzz also seeks to lift up the situation of others as well.

You can find Chelzzz on her official website. Watch the video for ‘Somewhere In Miami’:
