The songwriting duo from down under are back with a stunningly poignant and sun-soaked video to accompany their latest track, ‘I Found Me’, which is hard at work – breaking the top five in the Music Week UK Club Charts!
The song is something which stands out against the oversaturated market of love songs in the charts at the moment, and instead tackles the issue of self-love. A love song with a difference, ‘I Found Me’ is a song which also makes use of differing musical influences to create what has been tentatively dubbed by music journalists as “pop fusion”. This genre-defying music is key to this fantastic band’s mission, and why they really stand out as a group.
Accompanying this song is a beautiful music video which shows us the truly redemptive and therapeutic power of music. Shot in a variety of colour palettes, we can literally see how music and the writing relationship with band member Pete really turned Ruby’s life around. We follow the two through the process of writing and recording ‘I Found Me’, a process which culminates in a live performance of the song, before the two speed off into the sunset in an open-top car to spread the message of their music the world over.
This video release comes following an impressive run of acoustic gigs all over the UK, where tracks normally accompanied by a whole host of instrumentation were stripped back and performed in intimate settings during the winter months.
