Definite Lana del Rey Vibes From Upcoming Greta Jaime Track ‘Temporary Panic’

We introduced you to Greta Jaime back in August with her track, ‘Computer Games’. Now the North London artist returns with her latest single, ‘Temporary Panic’, set for release on 2 November.

Classically trained Greta is still only 18 years old, but has gone from strength to strength since her debut release, ‘Lost In Mexico’ back when she was 16. She was longlisted for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition last year, and BBC 6 legend Tom Robinson played her track on his radio show. She’s performed at London venues including O2 Academy Islington, The Camden Assembly and Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, and her subsequent releases have been met with great support from the likes of Born Music, Itā€™s All Indie and The Line of Best Fit. ‘Computer Games’ was also playlisted on Spotify’s Indie Shuffle, and New Music Friday.

‘Temporary Panic’, set for release on November 2, shows that Greta is continuing to carve her own niche in the pop world. With a vocal not unlike Lana del Rey, the self-produced track combines dreamy synths with drum loops and reverb-drenched guitar. At just under 4 minutes long the track seamlessly blends pop sensibilities with sonic experimentation.

Speaking about ‘Temporary Panic’, Greta Jaime says,

ā€œWith Temporary Panic I was inspired to write about growing up and how it makes you hyperaware of everything thatā€™s changing around you. I wanted the song to reflect the small moments of panic you have to deal with to develop and how it can be easy to push away everything new to just to stay comfortable.ā€

You can see Greta Jaime on the following live dates:

November 2nd The Hope and Ruin, Brighton (supporting Scarlet Sails)
December 7th The Spice of Life, London
December 16th The Fiddlerā€™s Elbow
