The 1975 Release ‘Give Yourself A Try’

The 1975 have released the video for their new single, ‘Give Yourself A Try’, the first release from their third studio album, ‘A Brief Enquiry Into Online Relationships’. The song is available to stream and download here. You can find out more about The 1975 from their official website.



The band’s first release since 2016, ‘Give Yourself A Try’ focuses on a guitar riff while singer Matt Healy contemplates ageing and identity. Lyrics such as

And what would you say to your younger self?

 

Growing a beard’s quite hard, and whiskey never starts to taste nice

 

And you’ll make a lot of money, and it’s funny

 

Cause you’ll move somewhere sunny and get addicted to drugs

And spend obscene amounts on fucking seeds and beans online

and

I was afraid to go outside

 

A 25-year-old that baby boomers like

portray the weird position those in their mid 20s find themselves where they’re caught between wanting to party all the time and yet wanting to settle down.

‘A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships’ is set for release this October, through Dirty Hit Records. It’s the first of two highly anticipated albums from the band, with the second due out in May next year.
