Based in New Jersey, Sarah Ragsdale is a singer, pianist, songwriter, and composer who uses her piano to tell stories, combining pop, jazz, and folk, resulting in what she calls “Ragstime.” Sarah has taken her style around America, Europe, Asia, and Africa and has made television appearances around the world.
Sarah’s new album, ‘Whimsical Romance’, will be released this autumn, and in describing it, she says,
“Life is like one big romance. This collection of songs is about that romantic story called life, and the ups and downs that come along with it.”
Raw, rustic, catchy and melodic, her songs have been written at various stages of her life, and interpret the ups and downs of love and romance. Primarily piano-driven, but with percussive snaps and claps, ‘Whimsical Romance’ also contains hints of blues, jazz, and ragtime.
‘This Kiss’ comes with a video shot in and around Baltimore. It’s whimsical and retro, showing Sarah in polka dots and her hair in a ponytail, skipping around the city writing lyrics in a notebook. The whimsy continues as she plays keyboards on the street, rides her bike past Baltimore landmarks, and plants a kiss on a puppy. ‘This Kiss’ has a great old-time feel, and the video should appeal to all music fans due to its playfulness and fun.
Sarah Ragsdale will be touring around the Northeast USA this autumn, including the album launch night at the Cabaret at Germano’s, in Baltimore, on October 7.
‘This Kiss’ is available from Amazon, iTunes, and Sarah’s official website, with proceeds from all downloads going to the Animal Legal Defense Fund, until the end of August.
