The Vamps Challenge Ed Sheeran For #1 Album Spot

UK band The Vamps look set to be in with a chance to knock the mighty Ed Sheeran off the top of the album charts where he has been for a phenomenal 14 weeks.

‘Night & Day’, their third album, is currently ahead of Sheeran’s ‘Divide’, and has taken the #1 spot on the Album Chart Midweeks, as announced by the Official Charts Company.

Calvin Harris, Haim, Roger Waters, Jay Z and many more have all failed to topple Ed but the four-piece are excited at the challenge of getting their first #1 album and knocking Sheeran off the top spot.

The Vamps commented:

“It’s crazy to be challenging Ed for the #1 spot! We know it’s going to be super close but we can never doubt our fans and the dedication and perseverance they show! We can’t thank them enough for helping us get the number one spot in the first midweek. It really means the world to us!”

On top of the incredible UK success, ‘Night & Day’ has also stormed straight into the Top 10 on the iTunes chart in over 20 countries including Argentina, Philippines, India and Australia.

The Vamps performed their new single ‘Middle Of The Night’ on The Voice Kids Final,  and were congratulated by Emma Willis and winning coach Pixie Lott.

The Vamps recently completed another sold out UK arena tour and are back around the country for signings this week in Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Kingston. Later this year they perform at V Festival then continue their world tour taking in South America and Asia from September.
