Despite being an unsigned, underground artist, Queens-based rapper Water has nonetheless managed to gain traction on his own, with his debut track ‘Loco’, released last year.

The video has received over 100,000 views on YouTube, and his follow-up single, ‘One Night’ looks set to continue the trend, having already been streamed over 60,000 times on SoundCloud, and the video, just released in February, has nearly 93,000 views already.

Recorded in Puerta Plata, Dominican Republic, ‘One Night’ starts with an aerial shot of the city, with water living in a life of luxury, walking around in a gold velvet robe, attended by a beautiful woman. He smokes expensive cigars, drinks champagne by the pool, and drives a Rolls Royce. The smooth beats and swirling rhythms of the track somehow manage to convey the feeling of opulence reflected in the video.

The video for ‘One Night’, like ‘Loco’ before it, was directed by Peter Dmitriyev, who has also worked with the likes of Little Mix, and French Montana. Both tracks were produced by New York City producer, DJ Thoro, whose credits include being featured on 50 Cent’s, ‘This Is 50’.
