With the potential to be country music’s answer to The Chainsmokers, The SLVR Tongues, from Los Angeles, certainly have a hit on their hands with their new single, ‘S-Class’.
The track is energetic and genre-defying, and is the lead single from The SLVR Tongues’ debut EP, ‘Rough Around The Edges’. The song tells the tale of getting down with an ex in the back of a Mercedes, and how what might feel wrong in the morning might feel right tonight. The video starts with band members Peter Erik and James Lynch driving a pick-up before it cuts to Hannah Huntley, remembering the events of the previous night. We flash to her getting intimate in the backseat of a Mercedes S-Class, and then we flash back to reality, she’s riding in the pick-up with her bandmates. Vocals are shared between Hannah and James, while Peter accompanies them on the banjo.
‘S-Class’ is the follow up to The SLVR Tongues’ first single, ‘Johnny Cash’, which broke into the Top 50 of the US Independent Charts, and hit the #2 spot in the first week of release for Country music digital streams. ‘S-Class’ definitely looks like going the same way.
