It’s day four of our Essential Advent Calendar, and it wouldn’t be Christmas without Shakin’ Stevens and ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ would it??
Shaky is back with a reworking of his 1985 hit, retitled, ‘Echoes Of Merry Christmas Everyone’, and it was suggested that he re-record the song, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its first release. It’s been remixed with a Folk Rock feel, in keeping with the style of some of the tracks on his latest album, ‘Now Listen’.
Members of Shaky’s family were Salvationists since the late 1800s, so with that in mind, proceeds from his royalties for this year of release will be donated to the Salvation Army, as they celebrate an anniversary of their own, 150 years.
You can buy the CD of ‘Echoes of Merry Christmas Everyone’ from Amazon; alternatively buy the digital download from Amazon, iTunes, and Google Play.
Find Shakin’ Stevens online on his website, Facebook, and Twitter.
Wow! How cool is this. A great throwback/update.
Isn’t it! Love the style, and it’s no less ear-wormy than the original! Can you believe it’s 30 years old already….
Don’t talk about it in years lol
Have you hear kylie’s new song with the stock aitken and Waterman remix. It’s awesome!
