Day 4 of the Essential Advent Calendar and we have a twist on the holiday classic, ‘I’ll Be Home For Christmas’, with fashion designer Malan Breton collaborating with chart topping recording artist, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin. All proceeds from the single will go to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.
An album of songs by award-winning songwriters – including Nick Heyward, Graham Gouldman, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Mark Nevin and more – that celebrate frontline nurses is released today. Curated by Squeeze co-founder Chris Difford, the Song Club album is inspired by photographs taken by Hannah Grace Deller, a nurse on the front line.

A special one-off programme, ‘Eurovision: Come Together’ is set to be screened this Saturday night, 16 May, on BBC1, and starting at 6.30pm. Hosted by Graham Norton, the show will include The Fizz, comprising 3 of the original members – Cheryl Baker, Mike Nolan, and Jay Aston – of UKs 1981 winners Bucks Fizz, recreating their iconic skirt ripping routine from the song, ‘Making Your Mind Up’. The event aims to raise money for Save The Children, with people asked to donate via a text line, or wear a Christmas jumper to the event and pay £2.

The multi-platinum rock group FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH has teamed up with the legendary BRIAN MAY of QUEEN and two of the biggest names in country and blues rock, BRANTLEY GILBERT and KENNY WAYNE SHEPHERD to record a special version of the song ‘Blue On Black’ mixed by Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Shania Twain, Disturbed). Titans in each of their respective genres, the artists came together to merge country and mainstream rock to re-create the classic song originally recorded and co-written by Shepherd.
