Jedward are always coming up with another way to spoil their fans, and they really come into their own around the holidays. The duo, who made many of our Christmases last year with their personalised cards and videos (we even got one!), are certainly keeping up the pace this upcoming Valentine’s Day.
We reported last week about theirValentine’s Day Singagrams, which are selling like hot cakes; now they’re also offering Valentine’s Day cards to their many fans and admirers.
Jedward, or as we know them, John and Edward Grimes, have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, just like the rest of us, with a lot of their work being cancelled, and their Voice Of A Rebel tour having to be postponed. Rather than letting it get them down however, they’ve seen it as an opportunity to get involved in the wider community, using their Twitter platform speak out about matters of social injustice, and politics. The pair marched for Black Lives Matter in Los Angeles last June, and have since been vocal in their support of mask wearing, mental health issues, LGBTQIA+ Rights, Travellers Rights, pay for student nurses, and most recently, demanded an apology from the Catholic Church in Ireland, for their part in the atrocities revolving around the Mother And Baby Homes.
John and Edward have also dropped into the DMs of what seems to be all of Irish Twitter, with occasional forays into that of other countries and interests as well. Their purpose in this is nothing more than to spread some love and good vibes, because, as they know themselves, these extended periods of Lockdown are taking a toll on us all.
Musically, John has treated us to regular acoustic guitar covers, which he’s primarily uploaded to YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. He’s even said just last night on Instagram Live (another service the pair have frequently used to brighten up the lives of their fans), that he has learned two more songs and will be putting them online shortly. We can’t wait!
