Chanique Rogers – ‘I Can’

Chanique is not your average triple threat. She’s got singing and songwriting under her belt, as well as stage acting. But she’s also a professional model, and a more than competent chef. Basically, Chanique can put her hand to anything and come up a winner, but it’s been from her very earliest days, growing up on the Caribbean island of St Vincent and The Grenadines, that she’s known she was meant to make her name in the world of music, and her latest single, ‘I Can’, is possibly the perfect example, a Chanique primer if you will, of what she can do.

OK Mayday – ‘Blossoms’

Virginia Beach Fourpiece OK Mayday is made up of friends, including a couple of brothers, who write catchy, fully-realized, soulful indie that stands apart. While their sound could be characterised as basic rock, they also take some of their cues from pop, which ensures that their songs are just that bit more powerful. Their most recent single, ‘Blossoms’, probably stands against any characterisation, but it’s definitely one worth adding to your summer playlist.
