Rat City – ‘Deliriously Good’

Norwegian trio Rat City are as unusual as their name. They’ve got the style and swagger required to ensure immediate success, and are more than just a household name in their home country, where they have held the place for #1 record on the radio and the Top 10 Spotify in Norway, as well as being on the Top 5 Shazam for over ten weeks. Their new single, ‘Deliriously Good’ does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s good. Deliriously so.

Lesibu Grand – ‘Miranda’

The video for ‘Miranda’, by Lesibu Grand, looks like it was a lot of fun to make. It’s got costumes which shift from 1950s suburbia to space suits which look as though they’ve come straight out of ‘Lost In Space’, or ‘Star Trek’. Filming locations are lush as well, opening on a beautiful mid-century modern house I’d not say no to, there’s also a fair bit of green screen as well, with the couple in the clip flashing between their average American dream to travelling in time and space – complete with rayguns.

Josie Cotton – ‘Ukrainian Cowboy’

Josie Cotton knows that pop music thrives on unlikely combinations. An upbeat, catchy chorus combined with a hip hop bridge shouldn’t work, but it does. But genre bending doesn’t usually cross this far: for her new single, ‘Ukrainian Cowboy’, she blends a twangy baritone guitar and a country-inspired melody with the deep-voiced chants and buoyant rhythms of Russian folk music. It sounds bizarre when written down, but believe us when we say, it works.
