We’ve been writing about the extraordinary Sharon Hendrix for nearly 3 years now. The incredible artist has collaborated with a who’s who of artists a mile long, and now she’s also making great strides in her solo career, showing off her talent as she should. Sharon Hendrix’s latest single, ‘It Takes Two’, sees her revisit her roots. The classic Marvin Gaye and Kim Weston track is the perfect duet for Sharon and her longtime friend and collaborator, Marvin Robinson. The pair croon out the timeless lyrics over a gorgeous arrangement of horns, saxophone, and keyboards, with the vocalists’ sultry voices complementing each other, and showing that it does indeed take two.
Gifted pop singer and songwriter Sharon Hendrix is known for working light electronica elements and progressive rock into her style, and after a year in lockdown, Hendrix is also opening her heart, and her spirit, in her latest release, the graceful and romantic single, ‘River Run’, and its accompanying music video.
Sharon Hendrix’s CV is a who’s who of music, having worked alongside the likes of Bob Dylan, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Olivia Newton-John, Dusty Springfield, Harry Chapin, and Barry Manilow. The latter is the one she’s most famous for, having toured the world and recorded with him since 1978, including a duet on his 1985 rendition of ‘Ain’t Nothing Like The Real Thing’.
