Sanchez Weave A Spell With Latin Rock Track, ‘Me Embrujaste’

Sanchez is a project that’s the product of nearly forty years. Back in the 90s, brothers Michael and Ed Sanchez got involved with Alma, the heroes of their hometown, Albuquerque, which opened them up to incredible opportunities, such as performing at the Hollywood Palladium and the Santa Monica Civic Center, and landing a seven year record deal with Art LeBeau, as well as an impressive body of work spanning studio recording, music production, and film. Eventually, the demands of everyday life got in the way, but now the two brothers have reunited, and once more ignited their shared creativity.

Based between Texas and Los Angeles, Sanchez weaves Latin flair and high-intensity rock into compelling, atmospheric narratives, leaving listeners wishing the melodies would never end.

Sanchez’s new single, ‘Me Embrujaste’ tells a story known to many Latinos across Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. A forlorn woman, faced with troubles of the heart, seeks out a curandera to cast a special spell, sowing far more than just affection. With the right ingredients, she can bind a man’s will to the woman’s, turning him into her devoted companion, which is exactly what has befallen Embrujaste’s narrator. With raucous electric guitars and soaring harmonies, the intensity of his desire is amplified, while sensual, cinematic flourishes underscore the savage pull of his obsession. With fresh, Latin-influenced rock, ‘Me Embrujaste’ keeps the adrenaline pumping, the central character unable to make sense of it all, how one toxic kiss was enough to electrify his entire being, leaving him with no way back. “Perdí mi memoria,” I’ve lost my mind, he pleads, “Me embrujaste…” you bewitched me.

In the music video for ‘Me Embrujaste’, directed by Ed Sanchez, the traditional imagery of curanderismo is turned on its head, exploring what happens when “happily ever after” is just one bite away. A woman dressed to the nines steps into a busy nightclub, zooming in on her next unsuspecting victim. Presenting him with her enchanted fruit, which he takes without hesitation, they are soon swaying on the dance floor, before the man falls into a dizzying, all-consuming obsession, and is powerless from that moment on, unable to resist her. He is still unable to refuse her, even as she drives away, ready for her next mark.
