The Al Ur Pal Project ft. Huly Ray Asidor Bring 90s R&B Back With ‘Still Want To Go On’

Bringing back a 90s R&B sound, The Al Ur Pal Project are joined by renowned Filipino composer, arranger, and recording artist Huly Ray Asidor in their new release, ‘Still Want To Go On’.

The brainchild of Al Wordlaw, a Chicago-based producer, songwriter, and former firefighter, The Al Ur Pal Project seeks to inspire and encourage others to overcome their struggles, and along the way, find hope, healing and joy.

Wordlaw has written and produced more than 70 tracks throughout his musical career, and sees music and ministry as two sides of the same coin. He’s worked with major voices in the world of R&B and gospel, and his latest, and now an essential part of The Al Ur Pal Project, is renowned Filipino composer, arranger, and recording artist Huly Ray Asidor. Additionally, they bring on board Motown legend Michael B. Sutton, whose masterful production savvy deepens the analogue allure of the original sound, and at the same time creating music that feels both nostalgic and timeless.

‘Still Want To Go On’ feels every bit like the climax of a cinematic love story, and this is reflected in the music video, with two lovers, running together across a beach. Huly Ray Asidor’s delivery is so emotionally charged and delicious, with powerful refrains bringing with it feelings so strong that they must be released.

Rich basslines, gliding drums, and shimmering guitars bring the song to life alongside Asidor’s soaring vocals. Co-written and produced by Wordlaw and Sutton, it’s a timeless tale with a happy ending, of a pair who find their way back together, and their love will endure forever.

Naturally, all this requires a suitably romantic music video, and the clip for ‘Still Want To Go On’ is exactly that. Opening with a black and white shot of lovers running across the sand, it’s evident from the outset that they’re completely in love, their joy and delight causing them to be totally lost in the moment. The scenes are interwoven with footage of Asidor in the studio, and as he pours out each declaration with unswerving conviction, the two lovers are captured, frame by frame, as they vow never to let each other go again, a testimony to the idea that true love has no end.
