With a flow that combines classic Dancehall with rap and RnB-infused hip-hop, Imark transitions with easy grace from mainstream tropes to Caribbean slang and references.
Last week, New York City hip-hop/R&B duo Suave n Thick released their latest single, their awesome new love song, titled ‘Long Distance’. The track is a collaborative effort with one of London’s best up-and-coming producers, Eclectic, who composed the track with a mix of old and new school R&B and hip hop beats, creating a brilliant new mix that’s easy to pick up, listen to and enjoy.
Today, the American pop group FORAGER released their debut album, titled ‘Pipedream Firewood’, on major DSPs. The eight-track album will be the group’s first major project since their formation in 2021, and follows up the group’s two year run of releasing singles and touring their local area, where they packed local venues full of fans and raised the roof with their energetic anthems.
Following up her release of her latest single, ‘Coiled’, Alice Gerlach, better known as alice does computer music, released the accompanying piece – her debut album, ‘Shoegaze 5G’ – on streaming platforms on August 4th. The long-awaited album from the Chicago-based indie artist has been in the works for a significant time now, but we can finally see the fruits of that work take shape. On July 7th, Jax Jones and Fireboy DML released their latest single, ‘Me & My Guitar’. Both artists have been hard at work on this single – it serves as an autobiography of sorts, detailing the two artists’ lives and how they lead up to this point. The song comes with an accompanying video that helps the listener visualise Jones and Fireboy’s upbringings, and is a pleasant departure from Jones’s usual house music productions.
